Sustainability is a requirement and a passion for us. That's why the water served to our guests, after several purification processes, is served in reusable glass bottles. The cork lid is yet another way of highlighting yet another of Alentejo's traditions: the trough.

The trough (or cocharro) is an object made of cork used to drink water. In the past, it could be found in all Alentejo houses and there was no well or spring that did not have a drinking fountain for drinking water.   There was a belief that everyone could drink water from the same trough and that diseases would not be transmitted.

Whenever you drink water from this jug, you are remembering your visit to Alentejo.
